This is flat out the most colorful / girly thing I’ve ever drawn! We need to get back to the rabbits exploding guts and monsters eating cute creatures, or else I’ll lose my sanity. SO BRIGHT!! lol
NEWS:
So this week is gonna be a weird one. This weekend I will be exhibiting at the Alternative Press Expo [APE], in San Fransisco. so because of this, I’m trying my hardest to get ahead so that I wont miss Friday’s post! It was sort of a bad choice on my part to start this comic as a M/W/F strip right before a convention, but I really didn’t realize this strip in particular was going to take me as long as it did; I could have done two strips in the time this one took! lol Anyway, still expect a regular posting for Friday and Monday, I’ll try to at least get something up, even if it ends up being a filler or something.

[Panel 2-4] - Flash Back Mode!
Begin Montague - Cadence playing on stage with her band, The Fuzzy Vegetables, her getting her first major tattoo, cutting and dying her hair.
Cadence: Well... after highschool, I was in a
band and we ended up going on tour.
In the the months that followed I started
getting tattoos... Cutting... and dying my hair...

Cadence: And naturally, as we got more popular
...roadies started to emerge... creepy,
creepiod creepers who’d do
anything to lay their creepster
hands all over me! Bleck!

and telling me how uniquely sexy i was!
BARF! Basically, I had to learn self-defense
to protect myself from those pedo-creeps
who couldn’t tell fantasy from reality!

BLOOD GUTS GOREEEEE! …ok, maybe not, but seriously, this strip hurt my eyes with how bright it is! It took me sooo many hours too. My eyes bled Blix, do you really want me to go thru that agony again!?!
EEEEh! Coloring with a variety of pallets is good for you!
Especially pink centered pallets.
The interesting thing is, I didn’t deviate from my current color pallet, I just really intensified it by making more things those bright colors. I’m definitely happy with my experiment here. Turned out great, I’m glad you like it. Means a lot to me that you say that; you’re work is fantastic! Actually come to think about it, I think one of the things that draws me in so much on Door is, the colors, that and the characters. :]

What I like about your work is that it’s very Disney-esque, makes it feel very professional, like high quality clean character work. I’m still shaky with my characters. I’ve started getting Cadence down solid, but Joseph is still giving me issues here and there. I really need to just sit and start doing more sketches like you do… but i never seem to have the time! ><
dude, living in front of the computer usually isnt good… have you ever tried finding someone to take care of a part of the comic? like, you could try to find someone willing to color the comic for you… it would help to take a little of the work off your shoulders…
The thing is, what you are seeing in my comic is completely “my style” of doing things. Another artist, would color a completely different way then I color. So you would no longer authentically be getting work by me. Also, artists don’t do things for free. I’d have to pay someone a pretty penny to sit and color for me.. of which I’m only making dirty pennies at the moment. SO.. though I’d love to have someone help me out. At the moment its not plausible. Eventually, when this comic starts making me a bit more money, I’d LOVE to hire an assistant to help me with other things, ie, convention set up, adverting management, deal with printing my art, etc. More of the business side of things, but not the art. I will always do my own art. :]

Love the hair styles, but I have to say it. If you combine the blue hair color from the fist hair due on the top right with the one just below it, it looks like another characters hair from another webcomic.
I’m assuming you are talking about Penny, from Scout Crossing? i realized that after I finished drawing it, figured it didn’t matter to much since Cadence, in her 99% of the time state, looks way different than any of Scott’s characters. :] Also, I showed Scott the strip last night, he didn’t seem to care about the resemblance to Penny. (thank god, lol)
Glad you like the styles, it was fun thinking of the different ways a more “rocked-out” version of Cadence would look. :]

It’s actually the band. There are a few Band related things that show up in this strip. All 90′s bands.

It’s all relative. A good friend of mine, he’s 28, his fiancée is 19. So they are 9 years apart. That’s creepy as shit if let’s say he was 19, and she was 10! But now that she’s an adult it’s no longer as bad. Also, consider how close the people are in mental development. Just cos you are past 18+ does that mean that you are any more mature than an average 16year old girl?** Probably not. Girl’s are historically known for their early maturity (in relation to guys). SOOOO Really, in my opinion. I guess it’s not that creepy. Unless she looks 13, even though shes 17… then we are crossing a whole other line, sir. THEN you seem like a cradle robber!!! lol

And I agree. I think the laws of statutory rape are out of balance. If it were in the age frame of 3-4 years UNDER the age of 18, then I could understand. But I don't believe anyone should have to be arrested for dating and having {Insert Birds and Bees here} with another because he/she is only a few months to a year younger :[.
Obviously, there is problem with the law. I remember when i was 17 I was dating an 18 year old. Her and I always made cracks about it, but i was very grateful I was the younger one cos on multiple occasions she pulled some hardcore drama shit on me (I even called the cops on her once). So like.. if I was the older one, I’m sure she would have pull some sort of statutory rape BS on me. D:
If you’re convicted of that… don’t you get listed as a Sex offender or something? Jesus.. that would suck! Either way, I believe it’s up to the parents to press charges in those cases. As long as you’re in good standing with the parents, and you didn’t do something like beat their daughter or something… I don’t think that would come up… or at least I don’t think so… Don’t listen to me. I know nothing.
i think it likes the lowest level Sex offender, on the list for like five to ten years after your released from prison, depending on the situation, if theres proof, the parents dont have to press charges, and the person can still go to jail, a guy i knew in college had a girlfriend that was a month younger than him, and being the idiot he is, they made a sex tape, her parents didnt give a shit, they liked the guy, but he still ended up going to jail, in all honesty, it really depends on where you are when it happens, some places dont care, or in that guys case, he got screwed

Well, when you are looking for a home, you can find out where all the registered sex offenders are in your area. By law sex offenders have to release that information, as in, where they live, always. It’s like a Scarlett Letter at that point. Everywhere you would ever, you will have that listing, and live will always know you are one. How crappy would that be if you were only months different from the offended? And yet still, when most people (who look up the information anyway) read the documentation all they are gonna see is “Sex Offender,” and probably not care to read what you actually did.. they will still think you are a child molester!
Your story slightly confuses me. They liked the guy, yet still filed charges? That seems a bit odd. AND, WHO MAKES A SEX TAPE WITH A MINOR!?! LOL, I wouldn’t even make a sex tape in the first place, but the risks attached to doing it in your friends situation would be so extreme.. I’d DEFINITELY not chance it! His resulting consequences are proof of that in itself. lol

the sentence for it really depends on a couple things, but in his case he got 5 years(which is usually the standard) and 10 years probation, with some stipulations, the reason he got it that bad (if im remembering right) was that he got slapped with a child pornography charge, for the tape
havent talked to him in a while, but when ti was all happening i kept asking him “why did you make the tape?” he never gave me a straight answer, except that he did say it was her idea
the only reason he got caught, was his girlfriend show a copy to one of her female friends, and a few weeks later the friend got pissed at her and told the cops about the tape and they got a copy and thats wat started the whole mess
something my dad used to say about relationships like this was “5 years for 5 minutes of fun, hope its worth it”
i havent talked to him in some time, dont know if he is out yet, but if you want to know more, i can try to get back in contact with him, he made jokes about it, this wat he kepts saying to me before he went to prison “you have to pay for your education and now i get an even better education than you do and its for free, ha ha” i told him hes paying for that education in a different way

I always grew up rather scared of women… i don’t know why. I mean, I’m not scared to be around women, its just hard for me to actually start my own relationships, especially without the help of my friends T_T. I am too shy and squish <:3.
Most are my previous girlfriends were forced into my life because of my friends, I had only made commitments personally to 2 ex. girlfriends. And I don't marriage.

If i put blood red, behind the 3rd Panel, colored her hair gothy in the pictures, and overall used flat colors and/or dark colors.. this strip would look entirely different. It’s actually not drawn any different… Trust me, a color palate can do a lot for tone. It “feels,” more girly that it actually is, I’d say.

Yes, it actually is a Pedo-Bear… I actually almost made the dude she’s knocking out a Pedo-Bear and originally gave Joseph, in the last panel, a bear nose to make him look more Pedo-Bear-esque… but decided it make the comic seem too “furry” and left it out. lol

ive heard there music before, just never knew there name though, unintentional things usually end up to being the funniest
for example, tried to just jump a gate a few years ago instead of unlocking it, somehow i grabbed just right and did a weird front flip, havent ever been able to do anything like that ever again, everytime i try i either end up on my back or faceplanting, and there always happens to be something that i land on, be it a rock, or my keys

I drew them as dark shady dudes, just to make them feel more like “creeps,” she’s basically saying she had a lot of “fanboys” that wanted to get in her pants, cos they thought she was “hawt.” lol
Unless I’m mistaken, roadies are actually the people who help out the band behind the scenes, not stalk the band members.
